How can I avoid credit card fraud online?

Is there a way to purchase online with a credit card and feel safe? Is there any extra things I can do to keep someone from getting my credit card number ?

What is the best credit card to have as far as rewards go?

April 7th, 2009 | Posted in Credit Card   Comments Off

I pay off my balance every month and charge quite a bit, but I get nothing in return for the credit card I currently use. I’m thinking of switching and I get offers in the mail everyday. I need anyone with good credit to let me know what you think is the best card to have -reward wise. What are you getting with your card use?

How do you allow a credit card to look at credit history if there is a fraud alert on your account?

April 5th, 2009 | Posted in Credit Card   Comments Off

I jus applied for a credit card and still have a fraud alert on my credit. I want to allow this credit card to look at my credit. The credit card told me to contact someone to tell them to allow Chase to have access to my account. I don’t know who to contact, i’ve tried the big 3 bureaus and am not getting anywhere with them in terms of recordings, i would like to talk to a representative.
I understand a company will look at my credit report. With this alert though company’s can’t approve anything. For Ex: I got a couch on from a new credit card and had to answer personal questions on my history (past address’s, etc) before they would approve it. The chase worker Richard Kololojfadjf, didn’t understand me when I said I wanted to make sure this application was really ME and that when it was reviewed the fraud alert would be removed. It’s hard talking to a foreign workers sometime on credit card matters.

What shows up on your credit report when you report your credit card lost/stolen?

April 3rd, 2009 | Posted in Credit Card   Comments Off

For example, if the credit card company changes your account number and moves everything to a new account, does your credit report now say that the old account is closed and you just opened a new account? I’m trying to figure out if you lose your old credit history when you do this—-especially if this is an account you’ve had for a while, and therefore is one of your oldest accounts since alot of credit is based on how long you’ve had things.

What do you do after you get denied a credit card?

March 31st, 2009 | Posted in Credit Card   Comments Off

I just applied for my very first credit card. I got denied :(.
The reasons were:
Credit report shows total available credit on accounts too low.
Insufficient amount of credit information is reported on credit bureau report.
What does all that mean?
Also what do I do now?
Getting a secured card does not sound appealing :(.
I do not know if this helps, but I am almost 24 and I am employed with a steady cash flow.

How do I verify a credit card on my website?

March 30th, 2009 | Posted in Credit Card   Comments Off

I don’t have to take payment. I need a way to verify that the information entered into my website matches the credit card. Then I need to pass it along in an email to a third party.

How do you verify credit info?
